Learning 3d

I have started learning 3D, it’s something that I think is pretty neat, and there is a wide range of creative opportunities within it. The software that I chose to use in my learning journey is Blender.

Blender is open-source, free, and has a fantastic community behind it! It’s really easy to find tutorials and resources for it, and a lot of studios use it daily.

I read a lot of interviews with professionals in the field, and almost all of them say that the most important thing is to learn the theory behind 3D modeling. The software can (and will) change between work places, but the theory behind how to model and animate will always be the same.

I watched a very helpful class from “3D na Revo”, a Brazilian YouTube art channel that has a lot of free tutorials and teaches 3D using Blender, but they also focus on the theory of how 3D works. It’s an awesome channel. The goal of this first exercise was to make a vase with flowers. I’m really happy with the final rendering of my study.

After finishing the vase and the flowers, I tried to model a little cartton pig using the tips learned in the videos. I think that it ended up really cute.

In the next few days, I will search for more courses to study, and I will try to keep writing updates about my 3D art evolution in this blog.

See ya!
